A Face Only a Mother Could Love

One night when Mom was folding laundry she said something that made me laugh. I was probably complaining about being sick, and she said, "I can't believe that you can be so sick and still look so pretty." I thought about my pale skin that hasn't seen the sun in weeks, my chapped lips, my hair that needs a good washing, not to mention my hormone-ravaged complexion.... I laughed and said, "I'm feeling pretty hideous right now." "No, you're not," she said, "I think you have such a pretty face."

Now, I passed myself in the mirror this morning, and I definitely wouldn't use the word "pretty" to describe what I saw. But that's the great thing about mothers. Even when you've spent the past seven weeks throwing up and feeling awful, they can still see the best in you. Thanks, Mom. You made my day.

Oh Annette! I miss seeing your beautiful face and though you may not feel like it right now, you will always have such a pretty face no matter how sick you are.

I hope the time passes quickly and you feel better soon. I hope all is well with the baby. Can't wait to hear what you're having! Hang in there and stay and keep blogging so we can hear your voice and cheer you along through cyberspace.

Annette I'm sure this isn't why you wrote this post, But I've always thought you're totally naturally beautiful (that's the best kind of beauty) I hear ya when you say you don't really feel that way in the circumstances you're in, but I just wanted to second your mom and friend's thoughts, you're very beautiful! Hope you get feeling completely well!

We all miss you too!!! Hang in there. I wish this wasn't so hard on you - I'll be asking Heavenly Father about this someday! But I'm excited for your new little one.

Please let me know if I can do anything. Bryson would LOVE to have Nathan over to play, or the park, etc. And I'd love to bring a meal! I'm positive your mom is right and that your face is as beautiful as ever! Keep blogging, it is so good to hear from you!

What a great mom! I still feel hideous and my face is out of the toliet most of the time. You did look pretty good at the doc the other day. You really are naturally beautiful.

Glad to see you on the computer lately. Maybe it can help pass the time a bit. Please find out what you're having next week! I know it will be rough, but make the trek down to Costa Mesa, k? I'm dying to know!!
